But testing in schools, says Dr. David Rubin, might not be the best strategy.

The learning loss you're talking about.

The learning losses, my guess is eventually the socio-emotional losses, other kinds of health

losses.

People have made their choices.

And we no longer can tailor our school safety policy to the decisions of those who've opted not to get vaccinated.

We do not need to be doing mass quarantining. Right now, we have kids across America at home waiting

out of 14-day quarantine, totally unnecessary. The evidence is clear. I think it's really interesting

that you say the goal used to be to eliminate risk of exposure and that that's no longer the goal.

How do you respond to critics who say an economist shouldn't be giving public health advice?

I think for me, the thing, the two things that I would say are one, I think we always need

multiple perspectives.
