We are joined today by our wonderful guests, Mohamed Al-Kurd, who's been on the podcast.

I think this is your third time joining us, but welcome back.

Today we're going to discuss his book, Perfect Victims, The Politics of Appeal.

This was published through Haymarket, I think last month it dropped.

But before we get into this book, Mohamed, I was wondering if you could maybe take us back to where you were born and raised.

A lot of, you know, a lot of your, the context of your political consciousness, as you

describe in this book, comes from your upbringing in Jerusalem and your experience as a child

growing up where, you know, you had people like the actual colonizer in your home,

your actual settlers living in your house with you.

So I was maybe wondering if you could just talk about that context of Jerusalem for our listeners

and our viewers who may not know much about it, especially from, you know, the context of Palestine.

I grew up in what a Jerusalem might be considered, like, a normal average Jerusalem neighborhood, which was the

target of dispossession ethnic cleansing campaign led by cell organizations that were registered

as charities in the United States and New York to be specific, that were collaborating or

partnering with the Israeli military and the

Israeli judiciary and the government to take us out of our homes under the pretense that these
