Greetings and welcome to a Monday edition of the shotgun start. It is January 3rd. Andy, how are we doing?

Brandon, I am doing good. It's the new year. Unfortunately, we didn't record on the first, which might signal could be a bad year.

You know, that's the one thing that's a little little concerning about the years we didn't record on the first.

Let's start with the recording on the first. We've recorded on the second as Sunday afternoon here. Did you have a good New Year's day and New Year's Eve, everything like that?

I mean, most overrated night.

I wanted to talk about just life and how funny it is.

I love the talk.

I was thinking about how, you know, obviously I'm a fairly new parent and New Year's has undergone this metamorphosis for me.

I don't know, I think that's the right word. More fuses.

More fuses. You got to add a syllable.

Metamorphosis?

Yeah, we got it.

You know, you go from getting all dressed up and doing some fancy thing on New Year's to like, you know, it becomes like the day that you wear like the most comfortable clothes you own on New Year's Eve.

I wasn't going anywhere. Obviously lost going on in the world and, you know, with a newborn.

I didn't go anywhere and we made dinner at home. I was in sweatpants. It was delightful.

It's always bad. I think it's always overrated. I drove back from Cleveland.

We got in at 1115. We turned on the ball, dropping. There was Macklemore.

I was sitting with Macklemore and Usher. It was like New Year's Rock and Eve 2008 or something.
