Hi friends and welcome to the papaya podcast. I'm your hostess, Try and Hermostas, Sarah Nicole,

0:10.4

and each week I'm going to be dishing out some sweetness mixed in with some seeds of wisdom or

0:16.4

something like that. So get ready to get inspired, get candid, get real, because we are all in this digital

0:23.5

space together. Okay, I guess this is my pilot episode. This is going to be the first one that you

0:31.7

listen to if you're new. And first of all, thanks for being here. Second of all, I have no

0:36.9

idea what the heck I'm doing. So just brace yourself.

0:39.2

This is not going to be a smooth, easy, highly produced road that we're on. It is going to be very realistic to what is legit happening, which is me sitting on my living room couch with a microphone with a cold cup of coffee and a, I don't know, what is that,

0:56.2

everything but the bagel spice all over my coffee table. So, like, whatever. It's fine. But I really want

1:01.6

you to kind of understand how it all came about. Why the heck are we doing a podcast? And

1:07.5

why did it take so long? So, long story short, I'm a professional podcast guest. I am so great

1:16.6

at being a guest on other people's podcasts. And I don't say that like pridefully. I was just

1:22.5

asked on a few of them and I really loved being on podcast. I really love sitting, being interviewed. And I remember at one point, someone asked me, you know, would you rather be interviewed or would you rather be the interviewer? And I was like, oh, I'd much rather be the interviewer than I can ask all the questions that I want. And then people started to say, well, why aren't you doing a podcast? And I was like, well, I don't know.

1:49.2

That doesn't, that's not what I do. I do the other things. I do the Instagram and I do the Facebook and I do that stuff. So I don't really know how to do a podcast. And I had some friends

1:56.1

be like, yeah, but you can learn. You can do this. And it freaked me out. But I kind of decided I was going to

2:04.4

listen. I was going to have a season of listening to my audience, to my community, to my people,

2:08.7

to my friends who were saying, started a dang podcast, even if I didn't really see that for

2:13.0

myself yet. And I told myself that the year of 2019 was going to be a year of listening. It wasn't going to be a year of knowing what I was doing. 2019 was going to be a year of listening it wasn't going to

2:18.3

be a year of knowing what I was doing it was going to be a year of sitting back and being guided

2:23.1

being guided not only by my own inner voice but by the voices of others that were lifting me up

2:27.7

and this was a big one so to be completely honest with you I have a hundred percent imposter syndrome when it comes to having a podcast.

2:36.2

I think with their growing popularity, it feels like one of those things were like, who am I?

2:40.7

And what should I be doing this for?
