So when did your son first tell you he was trans?

Well, in words or in actions.

Either or, I feel like maybe the first time you had like an inkling or the conversation with him.

When I look back I'm much more clear, but in the process it didn't seem as transparent.

So I think, you know, from when Penelope was born like this kind of, you know, chubby, bubbly baby and

inquisitive and crawling around the floors and exploring.

His favorite spot was the dishwasher.

Like, somehow lead the dishwasher open

and he'd make his way into the little resting, you know, the door.

Yeah, and like smile at me and he was just really a bubbly baby.

But then sometime in the first year, his personality shifted, right?

And I'm saying he, but at the time I'm looking at my child

and thinking this cute little girl, right, named Penelope.
