I believe sometimes instead of looking forward toward what we're trying to develop or

attain or reach, it's actually important to look back and to pick up the parts of yourself

that were potentially abandoned in your quest to achieve something, to be accepted or

to survive.

This can often feel like wasted time, but it's not even being stagnant or going backward.

It's looking forward toward the person you want to become and realizing you want to bring

the fullness of you with you and that to continue forward in the way that you currently

are without it feeling whole would be insufficient.

So it's a form of moving forward, but it involves looking back and asking yourself, having

an honest conversation.

Have I pushed aside trying to get somewhere else?

This is ensuring that you are moving forward with all of you instead of just some of you.
