Google Parent Alphabet, the other big story today, up after reporting stronger than expected

revenue. Questions, though, remain over how much macro uncertainty could weigh on the tech giant.

Dyr Dervoose is digging into that for today's Tech Check D, whether it was CapEx or Cloud or

search or, you name it, YouTube. A lot of questions got answered last night.

They did, but a lot of them actually still persist as well.

The AI search to threat, you mentioned that a few of them, Carl.

There's also there's CAPEX, there's lawsuits.

That's pretty much already priced into the valuation.

But Waymo is not.

And this quarter, it got increasing investor attention.

This from Sundar Pachai was especially

worth paying attention to. There are future optionality around a personal ownership as well.

So we are widely exploring and but at the same time clearly staying focused and making progress,

both in terms of safety,

the driver experience, and progress on the business model and operationally scaling it up.

Future optionality around personal ownership. Now, that's key, and it hits at an edge and premium that investors have given

Tesla's vertically integrated approach, where consumers eventually own the self-driving car. This is

a strategy that would give Tesla unmatched scale potential and long-term margin upside. That's the

narrative anyway. But Waymo, inching toward that model, changes the competitive calculus.

Waymo's next generation Robotaxy, it will be made up of Zeker-R-T's. That is a much cheaper Chinese model, which I'm told is on track, even amid tariff threats.

Now, another key difference, Tesla is putting its tech, FSD, into consumers' hands to prove that it can work.
