Extra is where I dive in deeper on the photo newsfix stories and give you more of my opinion.

Now I was away last week and because I was away I didn't get to make any more fixes after Monday,

but there also wasn't any photo

news to really talk about until Friday when a massive leak slash rumor happened, and that

is what I talked about on this photo news fix. So here's the extra part where we're going to dive

in deeper on the one photo news story that I did this time.

Generally, it's three stories, but this one was too big not to make its own.

Now, what happened is a bunch of Chinese presentation slides from Nikon leaked about the Nikon

D850.

Now, generally speaking, we don't talk a lot about rumors.

I don't like to go into rumors because they generally are just that.

Rumors, and people speculate and talk about stuff and go way over the top worrying about rumors.

Well, in this case, they do seem to be pretty legit, but I will give

out that warning that a rumor is still a rumor until it's no longer, what, until it's no longer

a rumor. So let's talk about some of these specs and break it down. The rumors have stated that

it looks like the D850 is going to be 45.75 megapixels,

which is a full frame CMOS sensor. That's obviously up from what? Was it 36 in the D810?

And I was guessing anywhere between 42 and 52. I kind of hedged my bets because, you know, within 10 megapixels probably made sense.

Let's see. ISO range of 64 to 25,600 with a low one of 32 and a high two of 108,400, which seems

kind of odd, being that most cameras shoot at, what, 102,400. So I'm not sure if that's a typo or some kind of translation

issue, but I also made the joke on the photo news fix that I bet the dynamic range is going to suck

...
