I'll be telling you throughout the course of the show about my encounter with the thugs yesterday when I had my phone stolen from me.

Factually, unfortunately, it could have been a lot worse. They could have beat me up, they could have stabbed me,

they could have decided to hold me up to account for some reason or other.

But instead, what they did was they just literally snatched the phone out on my hand when I was standing, looking at it, at a bus stop.

I did the thing that I'm not supposed to do, and the thing I've told everybody not to do, which is to get your phone out.

But of course, the reason I got my phone out was because actually the bus stop, which normally displays when the next bus is coming

wasn't working so when I looked up at the display when it said you know out of order I thought

blimey I'll have to now work out whether or not the bus is coming soon and if it's not I'll just walk

home and so as I got my phone out and started looking at it and started turning away from the

the sort of the front of the

street if you like and I wasn't paying attention for once in my life this guy literally turned

up without me seeing him and took it out of my hand he was on a moped he was doing about 20 miles

an hour as he took it he barely touched my hand it was that good at it. And suddenly before I knew it,

he was 50 yards away, 100 yards away. I shouted at him, I'm afraid, and used some expletive. So if

anybody was around, I'm terribly sorry for upset you. But at the risk of boring you all,

the nightmare of trying to replace all of the apps, sorting out my bank situation, sorting out insurance, has taken me until now, literally.

I spent about 10 hours yesterday trying to sort it all out.

Absolute nightmare.

So if anybody told you that crime is under control in this country, I can tell you that it absolutely is not.

And in fact, a police officer that I spoke to immediately afterwards said that he had

his phone stolen while he was wearing a police uniform. And that tells you, I think, all you need
