I'm your host Samantha Faye. I'm Deb Bowen. And today we're going to be talking about phone calls from the dead.

Well, and since we're into the 21st century emails and text from the dead as well.

Now a lot of people might think this is impossible, but Deb you've had your own experience with this.

I certainly have Samantha and it was such a gift.

So let me tell people about it.

When my mom got very sick, she made the decision to move into a nursing home. My sister and I tried

to talk her out of it. We said we take care of her. She said no. So into a nursing home she

went and the two and a half years that she lived in that nursing home were absolutely wonderful.

She came, she blossomed, she became president of the residence council. She was well loved. It was just a beautiful experience in a lovely, lovely facility. And I had this habit, I had this habit, this ritual, where every night at six o'clock I called her. It didn't matter if I had just left

at 5.30, if I had been out there in the afternoon or if I was coming back later in the

evening I called her at six o'clock and she answered and we chatted for a few minutes.

I did that regardless of where I was in the country or the world. I called my

mama at six o'clock. And as she got sicker and sicker I continued that habit until

until towards the end, until the end really.

In fact, let me tell this little side story.

Mama had a bird, the nursing home in which she lived was part of an Eden project and they had wonderful animals there for the residents.

And Mama had a cockatiel in her room

who she named Nicky.

And she would talk to Nicky.

And she taught Nicky to talk.

And she taught Nicky to whistle and to sort of sing. And I remember a night where she told me to hang on a minute and she I heard her talking and I thought she was talking to a nurse or or someone who would come into a room and I said mom who you talking to she said n. I said mama you can talk to the
