Summary

After a shaky first 20 minutes that saw Sam Ersson surrender a pair of goals, the new goalie stepped in! Ivan Fedotov made his NHL debut, beginning the middle frame in relief with Philly trailing 2-1. Jamie Drysdale also returned to the lineup tonight, and it seems like those events should be the energy boost this dragging Flyers club needs to get back in the win column after 4 straight losses. Noah Cates got the Flyers on the board in the 1st period, but the Islanders scored back-to-back goals in a span of 18 seconds. Sanheim netted a goal in the 2nd to tie it 2-2, but Anders Lee's goal made it 3-2 late in the 2nd period. Morgan Frost's game-tying goal with 9.6 seconds left sent the game to OT and gave the Flyers a much-needed point amidst a tight playoff race. Yet Frost and Drysdale's costly turnover in OT allows the Islanders to escape with a 4-3 win in OT. Bill, JP & Charlie break down the action, and take a look at the updated standings. After a four, three overtime loss for the Philadelphia Flyers, that's five in a row for losses.

1:09.6

At least they eke out a point tonight, JP.

1:12.3

But just another missed opportunity against a non-playoff team and one that is gaining on the flyers.

1:20.8

The flyers do remain in a playoff position.

1:23.3

We'll talk about that in a little bit because of the loser point.

1:26.6

They pick up with the overtime loss. But you can't possibly feel good about the way things are going right now no and

1:33.3

we definitely should feel good but this flyers team now like you just said five losses in a row

1:38.7

I mean like the flyers fans over the past couple years I want to hear that wanted 10 in a row but right

1:42.7

now we're pushing for playoffs a losing streak is not what you want to see from this team and I'm saying we

1:47.6

should be excited because we had a goalie actually make a debut and actually they put a small lot of

1:52.7

fliers fans his faces but to tie the game up late like that and then for that same player to have a big

1:59.5

mistake that causes the loss right there in overtime.

2:02.5

I'm heartbroken right now, Bill. I'm truly heartbroken.

2:04.7

It was a rough one. Yeah, late in the game, uh,

2:07.2

it's,

2:07.7

it's Jamie Drysdale gets the assist.

2:11.6

Morgan Frost gets the goal. Flyers tie it up with like nine seconds left,

2:15.4

send it to overtime. And then those two combined

2:18.5

for the turnover that leads to the loss. But I guess we're bearing the lead a little bit
