Welcome to our daily rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Yesterday we have the dual feast of James, the Les, and Philip, too much to cover in one meditation. So today we

meet Philip. It's interesting he always comes fifth in the list of the apostles. Can you list them all Teresa? I won't

make you. Now tradition hands down that Philip went to Greece and then southwestern Turkey where he was

martyred and buried in Hieropolis.

However, at the very beginning of the Gospel of John, it is recounted that after Jesus

had decided to leave for Galilee, he met Philip and said follow me. Philip then found Nathaniel and said to

him, we have found him whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

But immediately Nathaniel reacts with a very skeptical response. Can anything good come out of Nazareth?

Philip doesn't argue with him. He simply invites Nathaniel to come and see and Jesus does the rest. We can imagine that

Philip is also addressing us with those two verbs. Come and see.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallow would be your name, thy kingdom come thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

Give us to stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil,

Amen.
