Hey everybody, it's Super Bowl Sunday, but I'm super bummed today because of the passing of the great Philip Seymour Hoffman.

One of my favorite actors, I never got to meet him. I did see him in True West on Broadway opposite John C. Riley, and they were both amazing. I'm glad I got to see that.

I wished I'd seen him in Death of a Salesman on Broadway, and pretty much every other

stage show that he was in, because I always enjoyed his work. Of course, he was in scent of a woman

and Twister and played what I thought were incredibly annoying characters, so he didn't really

pop up on my radar until I saw him in Hard 8, the Paul Thomas Anderson movie.

I saw it a few years after it was made because it wasn't, it didn't get a big release,

and he plays an annoying Crops player, and he's great in his small role in that film,

and then of course he went to went on to work with

paul thomas anderson a bunch more times in fact i would dare to say that there will be blood

is my least favorite paul thomas anderson movie uh mostly because it's the only one

that philip seymymour Hoffman is in.

The master just sort of confused me.

I didn't really get it, but I got his performance.

He was very good.

Very good at playing charismatic and then also very good at playing sad sacks,

which is a lot of actors can't pull that off.

Like, for instance, like Kevin Spacey, I think whenever he tries to play like a slow-witted, dumb

person, a shy person.

I don't think he can pull it off, I think, because he's just so charismatic.

But back to Philip C. Moore-Huffman.
