that the Pittsburgh Steelers have placed the, quote,

rare right of first refusal tender on Aaron Rogers, meaning that he can accept a 10% raise off last year's salary,

which would pay him about $15 million this season.

As another condition of the tender, Rogers would only be able to sign with the Steelers

once training camp begins.

So, and then the added tidbit from Schefter just three minutes ago,

this UFA tender preserves the Steelers' right

to receive a compensatory draft pick in the event that Aaron Rogers signs with another team while limiting his ability to sign with another team once training camp begins.
