Gordon Chang, at Gordon G. Chang, my colleague and co-host and friend, and we're headed to the Philippine Islands, as reported by Victoria Coates of the Heritage Foundation, former Deputy National Security Advisor.

The Philippines, much in the news because the president of Philippines, Mr. Marcos, was

in the Oval Office sitting with Donald Trump, but then he was at the Pentagon.

And the fresh news here is that the Trump administration is moving on an initiative,

I recall, was signed by the

Biden administration, having to do with returning to the Philippines, something the MacArthur

promised once upon a time, a lifetime ago. The return to the Philippines, however, is about the

Chinese aggression on the South China Sea.

About the Biden administration, I recall Secretary of Defense Austin being in Manila many years ago,

and announcing not only would Bombal rocket launchers be moved into Luzon, the northernmost island,

but Palawan, the long, thin island on the shores

of the South China Sea, would now be a place for the U.S. to base its authority.

I hope I remember that correctly.

To your knowledge, Victoria, did anything happen after those agreements?
