We all desire to have more joy in our lives, but there are many things that can easily discourage us.

In 1 Corinthians 6, 19, and 20, he said,

Going back to this thing about servanthood for a minute, John chapter 13, the first 17 verses

are a favorite part in the Bible for me.

It's where Jesus washed his disciples' feet. And I love in the beginning, it says,

knowing where he came from and knowing where he was going, he put on a servant's towel.

So you can't truly serve if you don't know who you are. Because if you're

trying to find out who you are, you're going to think it's based on what you do or who you know

or how you dress or how much money you have or what side of town you live on. But when you

really know who you are, then even a leader can lay aside his leadership

long enough to wash some feet and then pick it back up and do what he's supposed to do.
