Philippians chapter 4.

Our text today will be verses 14 through 16.

As is our custom, we would ask that you stand if you're able for the reading of God's word, you can follow along, if not where you're seated is fine.

Pardon me for just a moment.

The Apostle Paul,

by the Holy Spirit, is writing

to the church there in Philippi.

And in verse 14 says, yet it was good of you to share in my troubles.

Moreover, as you Philippians know,

in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel when I set out from Macedonia,

not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you only.

For even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in need.

Let's pray if you would, join with me.

Loving Heavenly Father, will you at this time just settle our hearts and quiet our minds and focus our attention as only you can so that we can concentrate and hear as you speak into our lives

in and through your word.

That's why we're here, Lord.

We're hungry and we're thirsty for that which we know only you can satiate.

So Lord, will you?

We ask you in Jesus' name.

Amen.
