We leave behind tonight the historical books of the Old Testament.

We switch now to going through the New Testament.

We have covered from Genesis all the way to Second Chronicles. We have covered from Genesis all the way to Second Chronicles. We have covered

from Matthew all the way to Ephesians. So we're making good progress, kind of bouncing back

and forth, but for variety's sake. But covering it then book by book, nonetheless, and now we are

in one of our favorite books. I know it's one of your

favorite books, right? Am I right? The book of joy. We did a series called Technicolor

Joy based on this book of Philippian. So we're going to look at it the next several weeks

verse by verse. Tonight we have chapter one, no promises of how

far we'll get, but we're just going to take it one step at a time and see how far we get.

Wherever we stop, we stop. When time's up, next time we keep going until we've finished the book.

Let's have a word of prayer. Lord, you know exactly what we are going through,

just like we saw these prayer requests. Some of those might be us. Some of those might be some people

that we love and we've written those prayer requests. But all of us have needs. All of us, Lord,

are wondering about direction, wondering about your will,

waiting on you for certain things, trusting you for all things. And, Lord, we need insight. We need to be fed.

We need to grow on the truth that we hear and spiritually digest. We pray, Lord, that as we hear, as we read, your spirit would just

give each one their portion. Feed us according to the needs, the desires, the condition of our
