It's Granny Maduff, ready with a story.

So make yourselves comfy, and I'll begin. Music Once upon a time, there lived a princess of France.

She was called Marie.

She lived with her family in the most splendid castle anyone had ever seen. She sipped hot chocolate for breakfast, as was quite common in France at the time, and munched on macaroons for an afternoon snack. Her mother and father were a most beloved king and queen.

Unlike her sisters, Marie had hair the colour of a winter chestnut

and eyes as blue as the deepest blue sea.

Even more unlike her sisters, Marie loved to explore. At night, she would run through the

secret passageways in the palace, pretending to be a spy, and during the day she would be barefoot

dashing through the gardens as if she were a knight at her father's table.

Oh, how she wished she could truly be one.

But she was a princess, and princesses were supposed to be proper and well-mannered.

But Marie would not have this. She wanted to be who she was in her heart.

One night, when she was exploring yet another secret passageway, she heard a noise.

As Marie peered around the corner, a face suddenly appeared right in front of hers.

She cried.
