passionate commitments to different theses that irritate large portions of both of them.

You know, if you think of, when you hang out with philosophers and you start talking about

consciousness, you are so into panpsychism, you're trying to make it cool.

And, you know, just if two out of ten people are interested in it now, that is part of your tenacity.
