podcast. I'm the host Scott Feinberg and my guest today is one of the

most revered and influential composers of the past century. A pioneer of the

music style minimalism who has crafted groundbreaking the Oscar nominations, Kundun, The Hours and Notes on a Scandal, several for Errol Morris

documentaries, including The Thin Blue Line, and most recently one for Jane, Brett Morgan's

terrific new documentary about the early work of primitologist Jane Goodall.

I'm talking about the legendary Philip Glass.

But first I sat down at the offices of the Hollywood reporter with my colleague Ashley

Collins, a staff reporter who

leads our coverage of legal matters.

It's been an interesting 11, 12 days or so here.

We are not getting a lot of sleep any of us and you know just

covering this whole earthquake that has rocked the film industry and aftershocks

of which are being felt far beyond it and that is of course the

the Harvey Weinstein saga he's been a leading producer and distributor in this

business for roughly 40 years he was the focus several days ago of articles in the New York Times, the New Yorker,

that featured many women alleging that he had sexually harassed, assaulted or even raped them.

Many others have since come forward with their own stories and virtually all of the industry over

which he sort of reined has excommunicated him, have slammed him.

I want to ask you about the reason why it might have taken as long as it did to tell this story.
