My name is Todd Hamons, and we are two ministers, slash buds, who love telling the stories of the Bible,

and we can't wait to share another one with you. In fact, today, we're going to be in the Book of Acts,

chapter 8, speaking about a fellow named Philip, and a guy that he met who was a unique.

That's right, buddy. Philip is a unique guy, but he's not, doesn't have a unique name,

so there are at least four Philips in the Bible. Two of them were brothers. They were both

sons of a hair of the great, but by different moms. So you heard that right. A guy named two of his

children by different mothers, the same name. I'm not the most creative person in the world. I think

I would have spent a little more time if the next child we have, if the Lord blesses us with another

child down the road, whatever it is, if we were to also name her Adeldon, that'd be kind of weird.

But you could, but just spell it differently. Then it's creative and different.

The old George Foreman model. So that's two of them. That's two Phil's. The third Philip is one of

the original 12 disciples. We know exactly who he is. The Philip we're talking about today is

known as Philip the evangelist. And we don't have a ton of backstory on him. He may or may not

be one of the original deacons. There was certainly a Philip in there. We talked about Steven,

the last podcast we had. He was one of the original deacons. Philips name was mentioned there,

but we don't know if it's if it's the same guy or not. But we absolutely do pick up with our

Philip for sure in Acts chapter eight. And the church is entered into a season of heavy

purse accusation. The I turn that into three words heavy persecution. Sorry. Perse accusation.

I like it. It take all them purses. They're super heavy. My wife's purses very heavy. So it makes

sense. You did cheat my wife. My wife does not keep a lot in her purse. But my mom sure did.
