Thanks for the opportunity to sit in for John Cobalt today. Big shoes to fill. Big shoes to fill when you sit in

this chair at this microphone, but happy to give it a shot. It's a lot of fun. I've just spent,

I spent my whole life listening to AM radio. Now we call it audio, talk radio. It's a great way to

learn things, exercise your mind, exchange ideas, much different than anonymous tweets or social media posts.

Although we do that too.

So if you read the LA Times, which I hope you do, and I think you do, because if you're listening to KFI,

that tells me that you're concerned, you're involved, you want to participate, you want to be educated

about what's happening in Southern

California. Steve Lopez, one of the great treasures of the LA Times columnists, wrote a piece

over the weekend interviewing Norm Langer, the owner of Langer's Deli, who talked about how

difficult it is to continue to operate a business in MacArthur Park, which is one of the toughest

areas of Los Angeles, and how he was essentially threatening to shut the famous restaurant

down if, quote, the city didn't get their act together. So joining me on the phone right now is

Norm Langer himself. Norm, how are you? Excellent. Thank you so much for asking, Philip.

So what is the point you think that that article raised,

or do you think it got your concerns across?

I have no doubt.

I am well aware of what the news media is capable of doing.

And when you put something on the front page of the LA Times, it runs rampant.
