what's the latest in this case, Michael? It's good to be with you, Phil, even though we're talking

about a tragic, tragic case that I know a lot of people in this part of town were really paying a lot of attention to him when this happened a couple of years ago, just an absolute tragedy.

And people's worst fears when they think about some of the crazy people who are walking around town.

Are they coming to my restaurant? Are they coming to my shop? And what are going to be the results of that?

And what strikes me as the saddest part is that Briihanna Kupfer, who was working at this furniture store, had sent a text message.

Just moments before she died to a friend that said, hey, there's somebody in here who's giving me a weird vibe.

And then moments later, she stabbed the death.

And police believe that was by Sean LaValle Smith, who was finally facing jury, opening arguments began today in a courthouse in downtown Los Angeles.

Prosecutors are saying that Sean LaValle Smith, who's 34 years old, who was believed to be a homeless man at the time of this killing, had been looking for a vulnerable woman to kill.

And that he had recorded himself saying as much that he was on the hunt for a woman to kill and that he had recorded himself saying as much that he was on the hunt

for a woman to kill and unfortunately that day in Hancock Park he found Brianna Kupfer.

So she's working in the store. It was called it's called Croft House Furniture on North Albrea.
