Hello, this is Bob from Chicago, husband of former Star Wars minute guest

Tasha Robinson, calling to share our experience watching The Phantom Menace

the first time.

It was opening weekend to the Pack Theater in Chicago and when the lights went down

and the music went up everyone was

completely silent but then as the action began a little boy from way in front

shouted this isn't Star Wars in a way I think that kid was way ahead of the rest of us because he knew that somebody was pulling a switch and that whatever he was watching, it wasn't an acceptable substitute for Star Wars.

So there was a pretty ugly scene as he kept shouting that he wanted to see Star Wars and everyone

around tried to shush him and eventually his dad dragged him screaming out of the theater and through

the whole thing people shouted parenting advice to the dad.

So I can't honestly say what impact has had on my children of the film

but I think of it whenever I see the early scenes and Tasha can't think about it at all

without shuddering which is why I'm telling the story.

So I guess the lesson is, Star Wars is supposed to be fun,

so don't take it too seriously.

And the lesson of the Phantom Menace is that a little boy

who sees things before anyone else can
