Summary

This week, Mike and Jay start out by looking at where things stand after Super Tuesday. On the Democratic side, they agree that Bernie Sanders is effectively done, though they expect he’ll stay in the race until the bitter end. On the Republican side, they think it’s very unlikely that anyone other than Trump can … Continue reading "PG44: Trump or a Brokered Convention, Hillary Seals The Deal (almost), Abortion at the Supreme Court"Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-politics-guys/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy Learn more about your ad choices. Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening, wherever you are. And welcome to the politics guys with your host, Jay Carson and Michael Baranowski.

0:17.3

Welcome to the politics guys. I'm Michael Baranowski, a political scientist at Northern Kentucky University.

0:23.5

My co-host this week, as always, is Cleveland Area Attorney and sometime Republican strategist Jay Carson.

A brief note before today's episode, we normally record the politics guys on Sunday, but this week we had to move that up a day.

0:38.5

As such, we weren't able to discuss Saturday's primary results in Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, and Nebraska.

0:44.6

But even if we had recorded the show on Sunday, our analysis wouldn't have changed. Hillary

0:49.3

Clinton is still the nearly inevitable nominee for the Democrats, and on the Republican side, Donald Trump

already sizable delegate lead to 158 to 431. So what do you think, Jay? Is this the end for Bernie? Yeah, I think it is. And it's also a

1:31.5

matter of the margins of the victories were pretty tremendous. And I know think Sanders has a lot

1:38.7

of places, you know, real, where he's going to do really strongly going forward.

1:44.7

So I think it's pretty much over for him at this point, again,

1:50.2

absent something exciting happening out of the Justice Department and the FBI,

1:56.2

which there may be.

1:58.2

I think there's indications that this is a fairly serious investigation in that

2:04.4

the one aide who helped set up the server was just given immunity.

2:08.0

You know, we've, we've, so I think that's, you know.

2:10.5

Yeah, we, you know, we've alluded to this a whole lot, you more than I for obvious reasons,

2:14.8

I would say, but maybe we can, maybe you can kind of expand just a little bit.
