Thursday edition of PFT PM hiatus, closing in on week one.

It'll go just like that, especially if we're doing PFTPM every day or almost every day, as the case may be.

I know I missed Monday and Tuesday, but Wednesday, check, Thursday, check.

Friday, hopefully, check.

One thing that happened yesterday afternoon, only one day after Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said to reporters, go get him. The Ravens did. Jair Alexander,

cut recently by the Green Bay Packers. There wasn't a whole lot of buzz regarding teams that were

interested in him. The one team that I recall addressing the possibility of Rams who've been

linked to a J- Jalen Ramsey trade,

Sean McVay coach of the team said within the past week or so that as politely as possible,

it probably wasn't going to happen in L.A. for Jaira. Alexander. It does happen in Baltimore.

Former teammate of Lamar Jackson at Louisville. And I posted this earlier today at PFT.

There are, I think, parallels between what the Ravens did in 2023 when they signed receiver

Odell Beckham Jr. and what they're doing now by signing Jaya Alexander, a guy they don't really need.

And the contract isn't crazy high by way of value.

Now we know I know when traded for the 16 million or so he was due to make,

I think it's a maximum value of $6 million on a one-year deal with the Ravens,

an opportunity for Alexander to reestablish himself and maybe

get paid more by someone else next year. But here's the key. Two years ago, things were not good

between the Ravens and Lamar Jackson. His rookie contracts had expired. There have been no real

progress on getting him signed to a new contract.

He asked to be traded. They applied the franchise tag, non-exclusive. No other team brought him in for a visit.
