June 30 edition of PFTPM.

I don't have any of the kits or any of the countries that are participating in the World Cup,

but I found a gift that I received for birthday number 60 from one of our friends in the

UK. This is the Liverpool kit from the Premier League, which has no direct relevance whatsoever

to the World Cup, but it's the closest thing I have. And I kind of dig soccer.

I'm kind of into it.

Now, I went through a phase 10, 12 years ago,

where we started playing what was the FIFA game on EA.

It's now just FC, insert the year.

And I was kind of into it then, but then I lost interest.

But now, there's something about these World Cup matches, especially given that the tournament has

progressed to the knockout round. There were three matches yesterday. Two of them went to something that I believe

is unparalleled in any sport in the world when it comes to prolonged tension, increasing

drama, anxiety, just clicked up a little bit more with each passing moment.

Twice yesterday, Paraguay and Germany and then Morocco and the Netherlands.

It is a solid 10 minutes.

And even if you have no rooting interest, like if I watch something and I don't have a predetermined favorite, usually I'll gravitate toward whoever I think the underdog is.

I don't really know who the underdog is.

I assume it was Paraguay against Germany.

I assume it was Morocco against the Netherlands because those are the more established

teams, the ones that lost.

But I just, you know, when you go to a movie, do you root for an outcome?
