has conceived chiefly to allow me to spend a little bit more time talking to interesting people

than is ordinarily available in a radio studio.

And, well, to be honest, this week's guest, Peter Oborn,

struggle to spend a little bit more time with in normal circumstances because he only lives

around the corner. But nonetheless, Peter, it's lovely to have you here. And although I want to

get a little quicker than usual to the present day with you, because your latest book about

the calumnies and the sort of corruption of fundamental truths

evinced by the last American president and the current British Prime Minister is incredibly timely

this week. We will begin at the beginning and perhaps with the question of when you first framed

an ambition to become a journalist.
