Peter King, amazing congressman, for the better part of just about four decades,

Homeland Security, and all that great work he did, making sure that victims, families of the 9-11 tragedy

will be compensated for, I think, over 100 years.

Peter, what exactly is that number?

How many years were these people actually get to see that money?

Basically, the way it's been done now, it'll go on really to the end of the century. The money will be there. And, you know, fortunately, unfortunately, by then, everyone will be gone. So, you know, for the lifespan of everyone who was alive and down there on 9-11, they will be covered. And it was a long, fight. And listen, I know, I mean, let me be bipartisan here.

Jerry Nadler was a big help on this and Carol Maloney.

We agree on other issues.

Vito Fisello is absolutely outstanding on it.

But as far as so many other people in the Congress, Republicans and Democrats, North and South,

they really somehow looked upon this as a New York issue.

And so anyway, it worked out.

It was a long, hard fight.

President Trump signed, I guess, the final legislation when I was there, it was in 2019.

The president signed it in the Rose Garden.

But before then, it was a tough fight.

I mean, it took until 2010 before we got a first bill,

and that was only good until 2015, and we had to keep extending it.

And now, actually, Congressman Garberino and Malota in Washington have gotten it extended now really far into the future.

Now, one of the reasons for this is that when we passed the initial law in 2010, certainly in

2015, all the actuaries, everyone said that there was more than enough money there for everyone.

But we didn't realize nobody.
