So, Congressman, you know, in the news recently we've had all this back and forth concerning the Somali immigrant community in Minneapolis, which has just been, you know, growing and it's a well-known thing.

So what are your thoughts on this burgeoning scandal out of Minneapolis where I guess I've read

it could be upwards of maybe like $10 billion

dollars in taxpayer money that was stolen through these meal programs and faking autism

diagnoses. I mean, it's absolutely terrible. I just want to give you the floor to comment on

what that's going on there. And also the fact that Omar's kind of connected potentially to the

whole thing with some donors. You know, these are very, very serious allegations and they have to be investigated fully.

I have some knowledge of the Somali community in Minnesota.

When I was chairman the Homeland Security Committee, I was doing hearings on Islamic radicalization

and the failure of leaders in the Muslim community to really

show proper leadership, quite frankly.

And that was particularly true in Minneapolis, where you had an El-Shabaab, which is an affiliate

of al-Qaeda. They had a very strong influence there.

In fact, there were a number of young Somali men who were being sent from mosques in Minnesota right to Somalia to fight,

to fight against the government there.
