David Mizell invented the flashlight in 1899.

The design was simple, a paper tube powered by a dry cell battery with a light bulb and a rough brass reflector at the end.

Mizell called his product the electric hand torch, but it soon became known as flashlight.

A user could only use the electric hand torch or flashlight for a brief period of time before letting the product rest.

And due to that process, the device would only produce a flash of light.

Today's Bible story will challenge you to allow Jesus to shine through you a kind of light that will never run out.

Matt, how are things?

Things are so good.

We're wrapping up our series, our Back-to-school series. And today,

Todd, we're going to challenge everybody who's listening to let Jesus shine through you. Galatians

220 says this. My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ

lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the

Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. Todd, Christ is living through Christians.

And as we're going into school or work, whatever we're doing, we get to bring Christ with us and allow him to work

through us. Isn't that incredible good news? That is so incredible. And man, I love that Jesus

loves us enough to do that. And you're right, though. There's like a transformation that can

happen in our lives and the way that we grow and the lightness of him.

So yeah, I'm looking forward to chatting about it.
