Summary

In the first of three SXSW specials, I’m joined by Pete Lee!

Raised in Wisconsin, in 2008 Pete made his network television debut performing on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, where he subsequently went on in the same year to earn his very own Comedy Central Half Hour Special. Now, he's a frequent face on late night television with 9 appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and has featured on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle.

In this episode, we discuss performing on The Tonight Show while his house burned down in the LA fires, the loss of power held by traditional tastemakers, why being yourself now beats chasing Netflix fame and and I try to stop Pete riffing (which I eventually succeed with!).

Join the Insiders Club at patreon.com/comcompod where you can WATCH the full episode and get access to 15 minutes of exclusive extras including taking bad feedback from Roseanne Barr and Russell Peters and why all comics should self-produce their own content. GOOD STUFF!

See you there. Stuartgoldssmith.com slash comedy. The Comedians Comedian podcast is an independent family-owned podcast, which makes it similar

I don't have over 165 years of brewing experience, nor am I renowned for the quality of my

But they have, and are, and do.

You'll know that their most famous

ale is the legendary landlord, which has won more awards than any other beer, and I imagine beer

0:41.6

awards are slightly less ephemeral than comedy awards, but nonetheless, you know as well as I do

0:45.7

that I'm committed to uncompromising dedication, care, and a desire to always go the extra mile,

0:50.6

and blow me down if Timothy Taylor's aren't similarly committed. Only in their case,

0:54.3

they're less interested in finding out about comedy and more in ensuring that the taste of

landlord is exceptional. What taste you say? Well, it's a classic pale with a complex citrus and hoppy

aroma, and normally you'd be thinking, but where can I get a pint of landlord? I shall have to

1:07.6

travel far and wide. But I'm pleased to tell you, you'd be quite wrong. You can travel less far and more narrow, because you can now find it in more pubs

than ever via their website. Timothy taylor.com.uk. slash pint-hyphen finder. That's

pint hyphen finder. If you'd like to find a pub near you that serves a great pint of

I don't know.
