Welcome to Our Hen House. This is Mary Ann Sullivan. And this is Jasmine Singer. And on this picture, we have a very special interview. Rachel Kranz is an incredibly accomplished writer and journalist. And she is the author of the brand new book,

as actually not even out yet as we record this, Open an uncensored memoir of love, liberation,

and non-monogamy, and that's going to be available on January 25th. And she's also just happens

to be a passionate and accomplished animal rights advocate.

Her conversation with Jasmine ranges over a really wide variety of topics and is hands

down one of the most fascinating and provocative you will hear anytime soon.

I am smiling so big as you're talking about this because I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for

this to air. I actually had the opportunity to do this interview in person with Rachel.

And as you mentioned, it is a very different type of interview for us, but it is one that I love

doing and one that I as a listener love listening to. So I am curious how

all of you like it. I'd love to hear from you about it. But it reminds me a little bit of the

interview I gave to Ivana Lynch that aired in December last month regarding her new book,

which is also a memoir. So both Evie and Rachel have that in common. And I have

that in common with them too. The similarity between all three of our memoirs is that it isn't

exactly a memoir about veganism, but all three of the books in their own way touch on veganism,

because obviously the memoirists are vegan. And Rachel's especially,

I think weaves together the unfolding of how she is showing up for herself and for the world more

authentically in ways that are challenging, but ultimately liberating. And for so many of us,

as we go down the road of becoming more authentic people, veganism is an obvious thing that happens to us.

Yeah, I can see these kinds of interactions and hopefully these kinds of interviews on our henhouse becoming more common because more and more people are going vegan.

And it becomes an important part of their life, but they're not necessarily,
