We have a active shooting case actually from Brown University that took place yesterday afternoon.

And one of the good things about this right now is that there is a person of

interest who they describe as a person of interest that's all you see on the thumbnail on the

screen as a person dressed all in black but what we do know of course is the first official

warning came at about 4.15 p.m. that was yesterday.

Ten minutes after the shooting began, Brown University's emergency alert system sent urgent

texts, emails, and calls to the entire campus. An active shooter was near Barris and Holly Hall.

The message instructed everyone to follow the

National Standard Protocol, Run, hide, and fight. We hear that much too often in these active

shooting incidents have become almost a monthly and sometimes a weekly or bi-monthly occasion here,

a question call an occasion happening, a tragedy actually.

Three campus sirens also blared across College Hill,

signaling a life-threatening emergency.

The law enforcement response was massive and immediate.

Within minutes, the campus was flooded with over 400 officers from Providence, Police, Rhode Island, state police, and federal agencies like the ATF and the FBI.

They were armed with assault weapons and tactical gear quickly establishing a perimeter around Barris and Holly as a campus-wide

lockdown was enforced.

The next few hours were a blur of fear and confusion.

Social media video showed terrifying scenes of students running from buildings with their

hands in the air.
