Hey everybody, welcome to Marriage and Martini's, this is Danielle, thank you so much for

being here today. This is a conversation that I feel like was pretty different for me this

episode, but I really enjoyed every aspect of it. Joe, Piazza and I hit on so many different

areas of life throughout this conversation, and every single one of them felt so relatable.

And I feel like I was sort of ping ponging back and forth between topics because with Joe,

there was so much I wanted to hit on, but I think you'll really find that the conversation

definitely feels very much like just a relatable topic between two women.

And I knew I wanted to have Joe on the podcast for a while. I'm a big fan of the Committed

Pod, which is her podcast, which if you're obsessed with relationships and conversations,

book, We Are Not Like Them, with her friend, Christine Pride. And I knew even further that I had

to have her on because this book explores race and friendship, interracial friendship, especially

in a way that is so complex and so complex and so nuanced, that I give them so much credit

for being so brave. It's a very brave topic to delve into, right? We all know that the race

conversation can be really uncomfortable. And especially for two women, a black woman,

and a white woman, to kind of come together and write this story about an interracial friendship,
