I saw a Fortune 500 company post a little pride flag as their profile photo on Instagram.

And I was just took a quick look at my calendar,

and sure enough, May 24th, we're here.

And just to humor myself, though,

and I do this all the time.

I went to Chrome and I searched their donor history.

And, yep, they've donated $400,000 to a pack

that backs candidates specifically who want to classify

drag shows as sex crimes. But yet the company on Insta is like, love is love. Chill everyone,

that makes me want to throw my phone into the river and then possibly draw myself in it.

And that is performative activism. You know what I'm talking about. The hashtags, the filters,

the blackout squares, the celebrity Instagram stories. And they never

write their own stories typically. It's generally done by a publicist who has to Google what

intersectionality means, you know? It's the little enamel pins that they wear on the red carpet.

And then also, yes, I want to talk about those

goddamn pink pussy hats. So I'll be going over all of that today because none of this is activism.

It's not even in the same zip code as activism. It's basically a participation trophy for giving a

shit. And it is the most effective tool right now that the ruling class has for making sure that

you feel like you're doing something, but you're actually not doing shit. So if your idea of fighting
