Summary

Perfectionism involves putting pressure on ourselves to meet impossibly high standards, thinking that what we do is never good enough. This is something I have dealt with my whole life and I know that other moms struggle with it as well. Many of us also have children who struggle with perfectionism, so I thought it would be a good time to tackle this topic! Listen in for biblical encouragement so you can be equipped to deal with perfectionism more effectively! Scriptures mentioned in the podcast: John 14:26 John 16:13a Genesis 3:1-6 Romans 3:23,24 Matthew 11:28-30 Colossians 3:23-24 2 Timothy 2:15 Colossians 3:17 Ecclesiastes 9:10 Titus 2:7 Colossians 3:23  Galatians 6:4 Proverbs 15:32 Proverbs 29:15 Proverbs 3:5-8 homeschoolingtoday.com (Please check out my latest book, The Four Hour School Day: How You and Your Kids Can Thrive in the Homeschool Life on Amazon, durendawilson.com, or your favorite bookseller!)

who wanted to just get a little bit of advice and counsel with a child who was a perfectionistic

child. And so I'm going to address perfectionism in general and talk about it

0:39.8

in us as moms and then also a bit about how to deal with it in our kids. Before I do that,

0:46.2

I encourage you to check out my book, The Four Hour School Day, how you and your kids can thrive

in the homeschool life. You can find that on Amazon at your favorite

bookseller or at my website, Duranda Wilson.com. Also, you know, I know there are so many of you

1:04.3

that have reached out to me before and asked me if I could mentor you. And, you know, I think we all want that. We all want

1:16.0

a homeschool mentor, someone who's been where you are and can help you along the way. And,

1:22.9

you know, this is one thing I love about homeschooling today, magazine. Except instead of getting just one mentor, you get access to a whole team of experienced

homeschoolers. You'll find my columns mom-to-mom and dear Dorinda in it. I invite you to

subscribe. I really love the printed version of this magazine. It's absolutely beautiful.

When you get it, go grab a cup of coffee and find a comfy place to get away for a little

while, just a few minutes.

1:54.3

You will be delighted to find many other voices that I trust to speak life into your

1:59.0

homeschooling journey as well. Let them encourage, inspire,

2:03.1

and walk alongside you. Let them help you to homeschool boldly with courage and freedom and an

unhurried heart. Speaking of mentoring, I mentioned before that moms often reach out to me to ask if I

2:16.5

can disciple them or mentor them

2:18.1

personally. And it just breaks my heart to not be able to do that because I'm only one person
