Turn with me, please, in the scriptures to Philippians, the third chapter, and Hebrews, the 12th chapter.

Philippians 3, and then I believe we'll go to Hebrews 12. I think we will.

In Philippians 3, beginning about the 12th verse here,

Philippians 3 and 12, he says,

not as though I had already attained,

either were already perfect, but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Brother, I count not myself to have apprehended.

But this one thing I do, for getting those things which are behind and reaching forth under those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Somebody say me too.

Let us therefore as many as be perfect, be thus minded,

and if in anything you be otherwise minded,

God shall reveal even this unto you.

Now, with the King James English, a lot of times this hasn't registered very well on folks.

A lot of folks hear the word perfect, and you lost them immediately,

because they're thoroughly convinced nobody's perfect,

and the implication is nobody can be.

So you're not going to pay much attention to that.

And in all this apprehension, what does that mean?

Apprehended, apprehended, I hadn't apprehended.

I was apprehended.

A little bit of a language thing going on there.
