My name is Jackie O' Perry and I am here with Jasmine Holmes and Melissa Krueger.

So far, we've talked about our spiritual heroes, we've talked about holiness, we've talked about fear,

and today we're going to talk about people pleasing.

Melissa, would you just so happen to know anything about Beth?

I really don't want to have this conversation today.

Jasmine made it all out there about anxiety, and I'm like, oh, this one's going to be painful today.

So today we're going to talk about people pleasing, and so let me just start with a question.

What actually is people pleasing?

We can shine it up and make it look pretty good and saying, hey, I'm just loving my neighbor.

I'm just putting their needs before my needs.

So what's really, what is people pleasing?

And what's saying, oh, no, we'll do lunch where you want to do lunch.

What's the difference?

We can Christianize it.

And I think that's why it's so hard for me to know how to read it out in my heart.

It's when your identity is founded on other people's perception of you.
