Following a comprehensive three-year investigation by my office.

Yesterday, New York Attorney General Letitia James filed a civil fraud lawsuit against former

President Donald Trump, three of his children, and two long-time officials from the Trump

organization.

The complaint demonstrates that Donald Trump falsely inflated his net worth by billions of

dollars to unjustly enrich himself and to cheat the system.

Trump's lawyer said the suit is, quote, solely focused on advancing the Attorney General's

political agenda.

And she said the claims in the complaint are meritless and promised to fight them.

Her colleague, Karin Raimi, has been following this investigation.

And she says that for Trump, this lawsuit could be significant.

It alleged a pattern of misrepresentations and fraud spanning about a decade related

to how he valued his assets on financial statements.

It's a serious problem.

These are real allegations.

She's asking for a lot of money for $250 million, which is even for a big company, is

not in substantial.

What was most surprising to you about this moment?
