| 1:28.0 | Hogan Gidley on the People I Sort of Know podcast. Hogan Gidley now joining us, my friend, the Ole Miss grads, in the White House, now doing all sorts of things. Hogan, I've been wanting to do this for a while. I appreciate it, and it's not, I've had several people ask me this, because I've been talking a ton about, I don't know, time management, trying to get in a little better shape, all that January stuff. And I'll tell you, it's not January though. It's not about New Year's resolutions. And you're going to look at me and call me a young tie. You can laugh at me here. But I turned 40 at the end of the year. And I'm kind of like, you know what? I've got like a year here. For some reason, 40 is this arbitrary number in my head. And I go, I kind of want to knock out these things. I want to accomplish this things. And when I turn 40, I want to feel better about these three or four parts of my life for some reason. I'm not going through a crisis or anything. but I did kind of see that as this splice point and said, okay, it's time of time to get my stuff together a little bit. Get your stuff together, how? I don't know. Like I said, just get a little better shape. I mean, there's some things, you know, business-wise, personally, just kind of stuff. Like, I just, I love, I love. I'm a procrastinator, Hogan. I'm a procrastinator. I admit it. And I've got to get out of that. I've got to actually go do some of these things that I'm constantly talking about or writing now. Me too. I understand that. There's a book someone wants me to write. I've been kind of working with someone on that and trying to figure out how that works. I've been blowing it off, blow it off. And I really kind of took some earnest steps to do that this year. And then also talking to some other folks about some different projects out there outside the political realm, more in the corporate realm. And for various reasons, that's been difficult up until this point. So I understand what you're trying to do. You're trying to figure a few things out. I'm not going to call you that young at 40. And look, it's not as arbitrary as you think it is. Things start to take a different turn at hit 40, and they're not up. You know what I mean? Everything's kind of on a downward tick at that point. |
| 3:46.3 | Yeah, well, you know, what is intriguing me, and you and I've been friends for several years now, |
| 3:52.8 | is you've had a lot of jobs that are definitely not 9 to 5, all sorts of hours, all sorts of travel, yet you find a lot of ways to take care of yourself. |
