Hello, good morning, good afternoon, wherever, good evening, wherever this is fine to you.

Yes, whatever part of the world you are in, today we have an insightful interview with

the Vanity Fair contributor, Mei Jong, who is going to talk to us about the uprising in China.

She herself is a Korean from Canada, but she spent a month in China for this magazine.

Two years ago, writing about a pop star in China who was basically disappeared

by the Chinese government and she went looking for that pop star and learned a lot about China

has a lot of sources there and can talk to us a lot about what China was like before these protests,

erupted over the zero COVID policy, obviously, kind of like what we saw in Iran and what we have

seen elsewhere, you have these repressive regimes, there's a lot going on under the surface,

people are getting a lot of propaganda and suddenly everything blows.

And what we knew before suddenly has changed and all bets are off.

So that's what we talk about with Mei. She's an award-winning investigative journalist,

she's got a lot of amazing insights and we're happy to have her on inside the hive.

kooky people who have been running for office over the last five years is they want to suck up all

the oxygen in the rim and then we don't get to talk about all the actually important nuance
