members were killed today in two explosions outside the Kabul airport making it this

the deadliest day for the U.S. in Afghanistan in years. And according to Afghanistan's Ministry

of Health, 60 people have died. 140 have been wounded. President Biden will address the nation

at the top of the next hour. CNN has obtained videos from the aftermath of the attack's parents

may want children to leave the room before we show this to you now. The videos we're about to show

are graphic and difficult to watch.

The grim aftermath this morning an apparent suicide attack went off outside the Hamid Karzai

International Airport. Later another explosion at the barren hotel nearby. The initial assessment

is that ISIS Coruscant or ISIS K is responsible according to a senior U.S. official.

The situation on the ground in Afghanistan remains volatile. We've been reporting that the threat

of a terror attack from ISIS K was so high the U.S., the U.K., and Australia have been warning people

to immediately leave several gates into the airport yesterday. Buses full of American citizens,

American green card holders, and others fleeing the Afghanistan. We're sitting for hours and

hours outside the gates not permitted to travel those last few yards into the airport.

The culmination of what the president and his top aides have been warning about all week.

Every day we're on the ground. There's another day we know that ISIS K is seeking to target the

airport and attack both U.S., and allied forces, and innocent civilians. We're operating a

hostile environment in a city and country now controlled by the Taliban with the very real

possibility of an ISIS K attack. The threat is real, it is acute, it is persistent.
