Peggy and Patty McDaniel were 17 year old sisters from New Jersey staying with their father in Live Oak, Florida.

you can begin to believe that solving a murder or disappearance is as simple as

finding that coincidence or unique fact that nobody else can see.

her in the right direction where she figures out the killer knew his first victim, of fact no one else noticed.

In the film 7, the detectives discover the murderer who kills according to the Seven Deadly Sins has checked out certain books concerning that topic at a library

leading them to where he lives and if you want to go way back, an Edgar Alimpo's novel Murders in the Roo Morg, which could be

considered the first modern detective story, Dupin surmises the crimes weren't committed by a human at all, despite everyone else claiming otherwise.

In a way, at least in fiction, all the police have to do is connect the dots.
