0:30.9	We told you on yesterday's show that COVID-19 cases in children are surging around the country
0:36.8	and with school underway nationwide. It's no wonder that the trend, unfortunately,
0:40.8	shows no sign of slowing. Dr. Brian Cornrice is a pediatrician in private practice in Winchester,
0:46.8	Virginia. Thanks for taking the time with us, Dr. Cornrice. Of course. Can you tell us what
0:51.8	things are looking like right now in your practice? It's a mess. It's complete mess. Our appointments
0:56.7	are completely booked by 8.30 or 9am. We're so overwhelmed. There's really nothing we can do
1:02.4	to get these kids seen. So, after we're filled up, we have to refer them on to maybe urgent care
1:07.3	or an emergency room. But the weights there in Winchester are incredibly long as well.
1:11.7	The urgent care is six to eight hour weights and emergency room here is 12 hour weights.
1:17.1	So, really worried that kids won't be able to get the care they need.
1:21.5	Why do you think this is happening? Well, I think that the number of kids coming in is so huge
1:26.4	because there are three things. Three forces that have come together at one time. One is that our
1:30.8	winter flu and respiratory virus system never happened last winter, probably because people were
1:36.0	in masks and schools were closed. So, that didn't really start until summer. And then all of a sudden,
1:40.8	the schools opened at the end of summer. And then the Delta variant hit, which affects kids more than
1:45.8	the previous variants did. All those three streams coming together have just brought a huge number
1:50.6	of kids that are sick with not only COVID, but things that look like COVID flu and RSV,
