Dr Harrison is Professor Emeritus of Surgery, Pediatrics, OBGYN, and reproductive sciences at the University of California, San Francisco, and director Emeritus of the

He has been faculty at UCSF since 1978 where he developed the nation's first fetal treatment

So we like to start all of our podcasts asking you tell us a little bit more about where you're from and what led you down this career path.

Thank you. I grew up in what was then the small town of Vancouver, Washington.

My dad was a general practitioner and I think from a very young age I thought that I would be a doctor and probably a general practitioner like my dad or a good old

fashion country doctor.

And then in the course of training I got, I veered off. Didn't do that. So I went from there to Yale University and that was an incredible
