Yesterday I talked about my sister who is battling pancreatic cancer.

And I'm always amazed at the peace that she exudes in the midst of the storm that she is even now experiencing.

And I sort of forget that I, too, experienced that kind of peace.

Well, my good friend Jack Countryman, who is also a publisher, he published, for example, the complete Bible answer book,

Collectors Edition, revised, and updated.

When he asked me to write on piece, I considered it a daunting task.

Not because, as I just mentioned, I haven't experienced peace, but rather because as St. Paul explains,

the peace of God transcends all understanding. Indeed, the gospel of peace is a preview of the promise

of perfect peace in paradise.

In the present, our peace, well, it is as yet unperfected,

but as followers of the Lamb,

we continue on toward the certain promise that one day,

one day we will step over the threshold of Jordan into an eternal

ocean of perfect peace. Thus, those who stand firm with their feet fitted with the readiness that

comes from the gospel of peace are only a heartbeat away from perfect peace.

Through peace with God, peace with others,

and through the promise of certain peace in paradise,

we are equipped to face all of the trials and tribulations

that life most certainly will bring our way.

While I've contemplated such peace previously,

I had never experienced the ocean of God's peace
