We have with us today, Aria Lightstone. He served as advisor to the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, and he has written a story of Middle East peace efforts in a new book entitled, Let My People Know, The Incredible Story of Middle East Peace and What Lies Ahead.

This is our topic today. Welcome, Mr. Lightstone. Thank you so much for having me today.

All right. This is this is an account, a direct account of recent history, written by someone who was

at the center of things. And the first thing, let me ask, is what was your background and how did you end up

on the team in Israel? You described this in the beginning of the book, so but let me have you

do that again. Thank you kindly. My background, according to most, would probably be unqualified,

but perhaps that's what made us the most qualified.

It was an unusual group of characters at a truly unusual time.

And if one thinks of the Middle East in general, it certainly was a place where I think hopes

and dreams went to die and oftentimes worse and less good things than that.
