0:28.6	is weird anti-vaxxers, and I mean, weirder than normal.
0:31.6	Okay, so in California last Monday, Governor Gavin Newsom signed a couple of bills. Bills aimed at making it harder for parents to get medical exemptions for their children's vaccinations,
0:39.4	something that we've talked about being exploited.
0:41.3	And those bills came after growing concerns
0:42.8	about the number of unvaccinated children
0:44.5	in the United States.
0:45.4	And as you've probably seen in the news,
0:46.5	we've seen bouts of measles outbreaks.
0:48.3	With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
0:49.8	reporting over 1,200 cases this year, which is a massive spike in cases from previous years. In California, the immunization rate for kindergartners has fallen below 95%,
0:58.0	with 16% of California counties reporting their immunization rates are actually under 90%.
1:03.0	And all of this is important because 95% is the standard threshold for herd immunity to be effective.
1:07.0	And all of that, coming in spite of messages from doctors that vaccines are safe and effective for the overwhelming majority of people. And so one of the big concerns here
